Since an early age Shanté Sumpter had the gift of gab. She was the student who always moved by the teacher for talking too much. But moving her seat didn’t matter because she could strike up a conversation that would hold with anyone in the room. Now, she uses that gift every day in her career.

Shanté is working in her home market, Columbia, South Carolina. She makes it her mission to connect with viewers across The Midlands. Whether she’s live on Good Day Columbia giving traffic updates every 10-minutes or being the first person to tell viewers about breaking news. Whether she’s sending updates to stories on social media or just sharing relatable messages on Facebook, she always finds a way to make that connection.

Before heading home Shanté worked at WTVA in Tupelo, Mississippi. While there she was a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor. During her time in Mississippi Shanté covered tons of severe weather and big news stories. Her most memorable story was going to Memphis to cover Aretha Franklin's death.

Shanté is an Alert Desk anchor, Traffic reporter, and reporter at WACH Fox. She is responsible for producing and fronting breaking news hits and traffic during the week.
